Blair’s lingerie in Gossip Girl

Out of boredom, curiousity, and want to bond with a certain friend, I started watching the first season of Gossip Girl. What can I say, I absolutely love the show. I don’t know if it’s the fashion in there that’s making me adore it or the actual plot and characters, but I love it nonetheless. I especially love Blair’s character, maybe because I see a bit of myself in her. Well, maybe more than a bit. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing though. :/

Regardless, everything about Blair is just absolutely inspiring, from her dresses to her room decor to her lingerie. I fell in love with her robe when I saw it on the “Wild Brunch” episode, and again in “Roman Holiday”.

I searched everywhere online for a similar robe, and finally, I found a site which offered 2 alternatives to Blair’s lingerie, but when I checked the sites, both sold out. Either that, or they couldn’t be found. I then searched online some more for where I could find those 2 alternatives, but to no avail. Needless to say, I was very angry and disappointed. D: (Well, I lied, I did find some alternatives to robe, but they looked cheap. Blair Waldorf is NOT cheap.)

I ended up finding many other alternatives in the clearance section of Macy’s lingerie department. Yes, they had robes by Oscar De La Renta, Jonquil, Donatella, and many others, all for 50% off their original price. Of course, it was hard to find one is S, since most were XL, but I finally found one I was happy with (Donatella by the way). I went home very happy, with only $20 less in my wallet. I wear the robe everyday just because it makes me feel special. :3 Error processing request

I’m really at a lack of what to write here. However, I realized that the less time I spend on my blog and the internet in general, the more time I have to attend to my personal life, and it feels great! :D Since Monday, I’ve accomplished the following:

  • Cleaned out my closet. I should have taken a before and after picture, because the difference is absolutely amazing. My clothes are actually categorized now, and I cleared out yet another 3 huge boxes of clothes to donate.
  • Cleaned out my dresser. This feat is almost as amazing as cleaning out my closet. Again, my clothes are neatly folded and nicely organized. Oh and it’s not cluttered.
  • Cleaned out my drawers. I had a lot of junk stored up in the drawers of my night table, my vanity table, and my shelves. I cleaned those up, and made room for my beauty products and my clothes. I love clothes. :3

If you were hoping for more, sorry, but those above feats in themselves are amazing enough already, and I’m surprised I got them done in 3 days. o_o Of course, I still have lots of other plans for my room, and when I’m finally done with my room, I need to go clean up my study, which I’m estimating will take up the rest of my summer break. D:

Why am I doing all this clean-up? Because I’m planning to submit photos of my room and maybe my study/office to Katy‘s new project, Collective Haus. It’s a showcase gallery of the rooms of fellow bloggers and webbies. The collection is growing everyday, and it’s always fun to check out what other people’s bathroom or bedroom or study looks like. Please check it out and perhaps contribute a photo or two. I’d like to see what your rooms look like. :D

Musical Monday #3

It’s Monday, so that means it’s time for another 3 new songs! This week I’ll be sharing my three favorite songs from Hillsong, the awesome Christian band/group with amazing songs. It was really hard picking out just 3 songs from them, but I’ve made my mind. :P The 3 songs I chose are from their Mighty To Save album, with the first 2 being ballad-like while the last one is a bit more upbeat.

Click on the song name to listen and download. If yolu enjoy their songs, please support them by buying their albums. Thank you.

Excluding posts from index

excluding-posts-from-index

This is the third installment of my Boring Your Readers With Sponsored Posts series. As the title suggests, by excluding your sponsored posts from your main page, what your visitors can’t see won’t hurt (or in this care, bore) them. However, unlike previous methods when you simply tried to bump down your sponsored posts or exclude them from your feeds, this method might cause you to break the advertiser’s rules. So make sure you double check with your advertisers beforehand.

*****Don’t use this method with PayPerPost because one, it breaks their rules, and two, their advertisers will start whining and crying because you’re “cheating” them. That I find rather rich since they’re cheating the Google PR system themselves. It’s not my fault your fucking site blows and you need to resort to this MOST PITIFUL way of marketing. Other advertisers are MUCH more lenient, thank God.******

If you’re read the rules and they don’t require your posts to be on the front page, then congratulations! Now in order to exclude sponsored posts from the main page, you need to place them in a certain category like I mentioned in the post about exluding sponsored posts from your feeds. So pretty much, it comes down to just excluding categories from the main page.

I’m going to briefly go over the method I use today and provide you with a valid and working code. First, you’ll need to locate The Loop in your index template and insert a function before the code. The Loop generally begins with:

<?php if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>

and ends with:

<?php endwhile; else: ?>
<p><?php _e('Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.'); ?></p>
<?php endif; ?>

Now this is the function we’re going to insert before The Loop:

<?php if (is_home()) {
query_posts($query_string . "&cat=-N");
}
?>

The N in the function stands for the category (1, 2, 3, etc) you want to exclude from the main page. Make sure the “-” sign remains intact in the code. In my case, I want to exclude the STFU category, so my code would look like this:

<?php if (is_home()) {
query_posts($query_string . "&cat=-53");
}
?>

Of course, you can add this function to any pages where you wish to exclude the said category; it doesn’t have to be just your main page. ;) That said, you need at least WordPress 1.5+ in order for the function to work. But God knows why anyone is still using 1.5 or lower when it’s already at 2.6.
