All Eyes On Me
Continuing the tradition that Jenny has started, I’ve shamelessly requested an interview from her, to which she has asked five questions. But before that, here’s a meme that Ongaku tagged me in, so let me start with 10 facts you probably didn’t know about me. Kudos to you if you knew one or more of these:
- I ran away from home at the age of 3 by climbing down 5 flight of stairs (we lived in an apartment) before my uncle found me in the middle of the street.
- I have had graves disease since sophomore year of high school.
- My first website ever was a Pokemon site, filled with stolen images from other Pokemon sites. I didn’t know it was illegal back then
- I am one of the biggest cry babies you’ll ever meet. I cry, very easily.
- I like the smell of paint and super glue and permanent markers.
- When something is wrong, I tend to hold it in until I can’t stand it anymore, then I’ll just explode without warning, right in your face. Sorry!
- Despite what other people might think, I’m very insecure and and self-conscious. I’m constantly seeking other people’s approval.
- Hence, I admire true Christians that don’t care about conforming to the world’s standards and just live their lives for God.
- I was thinking about getting a nose job before coming to the US, but I chickened out last minute because I was scared of the pain.
- Even after 9 years, I still think Yamato Ishida from Digimon is the cutest guy in anime history
I’m too lazy to tag people, so if you want to do the meme, go ahead and do it. Yay for memes! Now for the 5 interview questions from Jenny:
- How did you come up with the name of your blog?
This was an old name I used for my blog back in 2001, and I started using it again because of my returned admiration for the anime heroine it was named after: Mimi Tachikawa from Digimon. Super Girl was one of her theme songs from the series, and I really identified with the lyrics:Why are you always, always running away?
If you’re always afraid of making mistakes, you can’t do anything.
No matter how many times you get discouraged, it’s still OK, isn’t it?
Try believing in yourself and the road will be opened to you.
No matter what hard times you have, you should laugh with a smile.
Say “Goodbye” to the crybaby you, someday you’ll be a Super Girl! - Are you a fan of the super cute?
Yes, though I think I’m growing out of the phase. I know I used to LOVE buying my school supplies from Taiwan because of the cute characters they’d have on them. - Are you a Gossip Girl fan?
Yes! I love the show and the characters, but above all, I love the fashion. My current style is a mix between the girlyness of Blair Waldorf with a hint of the boho chic of Serena van der Woodsen. Not only does their fashion inspire me, but their lifestyle as well, though it is hard to pull it off when your parents aren’t raking in millions by the day
- What do you think of the whole Twilight fan fetish going around lately?
Honestly, I could care less about it. As a matter of fact, I find it quite annoying because it consists mostly of teeny-boppers, the one social group I cannot stand. I was a little psyched about the movie at first because Edward looked quite sexy, but Kristin Stewart was a BIG no no for me. For some reason, she really annoys me (sorry Bella/Kristin fans!). So no, I’ve never watched the movie or read the books, and don’t plan to anytime soon. This whole Twilight thing is overrated in my opinion. - Do you agree that these questions could have been more creative?
Actually, I was expecting the typical “so what made you decide to start blogging?” or “tell me about your experience as a web designer” kind of questions, so I already think these are pretty creative c:
Well, that’s enough of me to last you guys months probably, so I’ll stop. But for those of you interested in carrying on the interviewing tradition, just leave a comment saying “interview me” and I’ll reply with 5 questions of my choice, which you will answer in your next blog post. And in that post, you will offer your readers a chance to get interviewed by you, so the tradition may continue. Yay for traditions!

Cy says:
Hah, I can relate to the “running away” when you can barely walk thing. And oh goodness the pokemon phase. But wow, those things are definitely not just at the surface kind of you-didn’t-knows. Very enlightening.
The interview meme sounds interesting. I wouldn’t mind trying it.
Hazel says:
Haha, I remember my first website! I think it had some pokemon graphics too plus some other pixel anime sprites. *sigh* those were the days..
I used to love the smell of markers and white-out too until I discovered that it killed your brain cells… o___o
Hooray for GG! I can’t wait for the new season. I hope it’s going to be a good one!!
Aisling says:
My first website was a Sailormoon one, I think. It was called ~*~Crystal Destiny~*~, I think.
I would like to be interviewed, please!
Camila says:
I love the meme! and you made me laugh with the one about your pokemon website (the smiley after the illegal thing was cute haha). These facts are basically all new to me
Mm.. I’ve read Twilight and I really liked it, but I absolutely hated the movie. I don’t understand how people can call it amazing…seriously. The books are well-written but I do think the whole hype is too much.
I liked #3 of the interview.. what you said about their lifestyle is so true! As for their fashion style, thankfully there are still ways to be stylish and not go broke.
interview me!
SassyGirl says:
Those are pretty nice lyrics for Digimon. I used to watch it after school but grew out of it. Man, I miss the days of cartoons.
I also watch GG for the fashion. I actually used to scoff at the girls who were obsessed with GG (the books and then the show) but finally my friends convinced me to watch it. Although I am not obsessed, I love love LOVE the clothing. I watched Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia for the same reason. Have you seen them? Don’t know if they have it in Netherlands (if not, download it! Lipstick Jungle is worth watching).
Jenny says:
DO ME DO ME!!
Teddy says:
I guess everyone makes the same mistakes when it comes to making their first website – when I made mine, a roller coaster themed one, I lifted images off Google Image search. It was inspired from this site called Joyrides.com. Amazingly, it’s still up and running!
Me too! I was horrified to be told that they’re actually addictive in nature *gasp* but they smell so darn good! That’s why I love walking into a freshly-painted house when everyone scrambles out of it.
Sophia says:
Wow now we definalty know a lot about you, I acually tend to like the smell of AC when it’s first turned on, i don’t if I sound like a freak
anne says:
same here.
i explode unexpectedly most especially if i’m trying to keep calm and act like nothing is wrong — i burst easily and cries along too.. boohoo me..
Chrizta says:
Fun meme!
4. I am too. D:
.
5. For some reason I also like the smell of paint too. It concerns me that I might get high from it one day though,
10. Yamato is adorable!
How about you “interview me?”
Stephanie says:
I think everyone has had some sort of anime fansite. I think I had a neopets fansite w/illegal content. *Cough* Lol. That’s when I didn’t know about copyright. We all learn.
#6 sounds like me. I hold in a lot of pent up anger. When it’s released, you don’t wanna be around. Lol.
azarre says:
helloo… stubling on ur site and found it sweet… grretz from indonesia…
Justin says:
Trish says:
I didn’t know what Graves disease was ’till I read this. I’m such a crybaby, too. I might do the meme sometime; I’ve seen it around and it looks fun, haha.
Cindy says:
I love gossip girl too.
Totally can’t wait for Target’s upcoming Gossip Girl collection!
Katie says:
#5. haha same here. <3
Miri says:
I’m a huge Gossip Girl fan as well, and I absolutely love Blair’s fashion sense. Anyways, I somehow stumbled upon your blog while clickgin around the Q*Bee member list, and I wanted to say that I simply adore your current layout! I’m also a huge fan of the layout in your portfolio featuring Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran, since I really love the art style of that series, and you effectively exploited that bright, pop-esque style into an awesome layout! You’re definitely going on my RSS
