Looking back & moving forward

I’m not going to discuss my personal life here, because there’s too much to say, and some things I’d like to keep personal, so I’m just going to talk about my online activity.

2008 was an interesting blogging year for me. I’ve been blogging since 2002/2003, but in the past all my blog entries were about my personal life: what I did, what happened at school, what I bought when I went shopping, etc. But this year I was influenced by blogs like Jem‘s and Katy‘s and decided to focus more on what the audience would be more interested in, hence more informative articles. I also took up paid posts, and as a result of my work since May 2008, I’ve earned a total of $899.23, which is roughly about $100 a month. Of course, that wasn’t without costs.

Goodbye 2008, and hello 2009

As for 2009, I’m going to take good use of winter break to completely renovate my blog and other sites, including new designs which aren’t based off of pre-made templates. I’m also thinking about moving this blog and changing some features, because it has just gotten too bloated and inpersonal for my own taste. As for paid posts, I will continue to work on them (why not? lol ) and find more discreet ways to publish them without interfering with the audiences and my PR.Error processing request

Wow, good for you for earning that much through reviewing paid posts!! I don’t think I’d have enough stamina to keep going for that long. Glad you had a great 2008 for blogging though!

Aw how sweet =) I still write a lot about my personal life and shopping and things like that though.. I can’t say I totally cater to writing only about what my readers want.. unless that is what they want.

Do you only use PPP and PayU2Blog? I’m so obsessed with the integrity of my blog that I only use PayU2Blog so I can hide them (thanks to your method).

Wow that’s awesome how much you made. I thought about about doing paid posts, but I make enough with my current job, that I don’t have to resort to that.

Hope you had a good last year, and here’s hoping this year is just as good if not better!

wow you’ve earned a lot in blogging. well, i don’t track my earnings because i find it hard to accept that all these earnings are gone – so gone with the wind. lol .

i agree that mr. g is a bitch. i’ve been a victim for how many times in my different sites. lol . and until now, i haven’t mastered on how to post sponsored posts without being caught.

anyway if you’re using wordpress, you can use a plugin called Hide On Homepage. through this plugin you won’t have any problems in hiding your paid posts from your regular posts.

    best of luck!

Eek – I wanted to add your link to my feedreader but it still links to ever-after (your RSS links to http://feeds.feedburner.com/everafterorg)

That’s a lot of money. I never looked into paid posts and have no idea how they work… but congrats :)

Ahh, thanks for letting me know. It should work now!

As for paid posts, you risk being Google-slapped, but the extra money on the side helps pay for my many shopping sprees :P
