Pokemon Gold & Silver remake

Ever since Pokemon did a remake of the Red and Blue gameboy games into FireRed and LeafGreen for gameboy advance, I’d been waiting for the day they’d do a remake of my favorite Pokemon series: Gold and Silver. Of all the Pokemon games I’ve played, all the way from Red to the latest Pearl, and trust me, I’ve played them all, my favorite remains the Gold & Silver series, taking place in the Johto region then making its way back to Kanto. So of course, I was super psyched to find out that they are indeed doing a remake for the DS called HeartGold and SoulSilver. New features include:
- Your starter will follow you around, much like Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow
- Playable characters received a completely new design
- There will be a special Pichu event at the Ilex Shrine for those that preordered tickets to the 12th movie
- New designs for the Pokegear
The game is set to be released in Fall 2009 in Japan, and in Mid-2010 in North America. I can’t wait!
