Pretty in pink

After 2 weekend getaways back to back (NYC one weekend and Ocean City, MD for July 4th afterwards), everything seemed to slow down, and I’ve been reduced to procrastinating + drama searching + occasionally doing work for my internship everyday. Really not much fun at all, quite dull to be honest, hence the highlight of my days has been the arrival of my new Samsung Marvel (S5560) phone.

I’ve been on a new phone hunt forever, and almost lost $130 to a scammer who tried to send me some fake purple D&G cuffs instead of the phone I ordered. After months (the hunt started in May) of searching, I finally decided on a Samsung Marvel in pink. I was going to buy the Samsung Star Hello Kitty edition, but the cheaper price + wi-fi capability + 5mp camera on the Marvel won me over¹. Anyways, enough talk, picture time!

The phone once on. There’s 3 main screens which you can scroll left & right and place widgets on. I prefer my screen clutter-free though

The size is also a good fit for my hand, much better than the iPhone in my opinion

Unfortunately it doesn’t have 3G, which is fine for me, since I can’t afford the $80/month phone bill anyways. I’m not going to go into all the features this phone has², but one feature that I found absolute brilliant was the fake-a-call. All I have to do is press & hold the volume button, and my phone will automatically “ring” in 10 seconds. Once I pick up, it’ll play a pre-recorded message, giving me the perfect “excuse” for getting out of sticky situations or awkward conversations.

Most of the newer Samsung phones have that fake-a-call feature. When I was using S8300, I kept hitting the button and this unknown call kept calling me, and I kept picking it up but no one would ever say anything. It happened for a long while before I realized what it actually was, .

I'm not a big fan of pink or Hello Kitty, but Samsung phones aren't too bad, except for the fact that their battery life leaves much to be desired.

I was debating between a white and a pink phone, but I went for the pink because I hate having my phone look like everyone else's. The battery life on my phone has been good so far, so I'm not complaining

lmao… my boyfriend just got an iPhone 4, and the first thing he downloaded was that fake call app. I think it's hilarious how people use it to get out of awkward situations. Anyway, nice phone! I need a new one… maybe I'll get that one?! In pink, too!

That was pretty much the only reason we went. Nonetheless, we were bored, haha. Yeah, I love my grandparents and I only do get to see them twice a year, so I try to make the most of the time I do get to spend with them. During all the years that I had lived in Maryland before I moved here, I lived probably an hour from OC, and had never went. Ever. I find that shocking since everyone always goes. It's also the senior week spot. I was kind of looking forward to going for my senior year, but look now, I'm at the beach everyday (: I do love your phone though (: I've always wanted a pink phone, haha.

I can see that, usually when you live near a "tourist" area, you never go there yourself, just like how I rarely visit DC except for its nightlife.

But yeah, the crowd is a lot younger at OC…mostly high school kids, makes me feel kinda old

That's a super cute phone and you used a hello kitty background. That fake a call feature is nice, wish I can have that. I wonder if there's an iphone app that can do something like that.

I love that green crystal too because it's like mix of 3-4 different colours. These four are my all time favourite colours.

I switch the background up every so often, because I get bored of them easily. From what I know, there is an iPhone app for fake calls, and it's a lot fancier than the one i have in my phone.

Wow, that's an adorable phone. My phone is pretty tom-boyish. It's a Rumor2 and black. It has a cool design on the back, but other than that it's not as cute as yours. I'm also sad that mine doesn't have a key ring. Oh well.

Ah, Ocean City, Maryland! I was born there and used to go every summer. I hope you enjoyed it! As for the ages of the people there, it depends on what time of year it is.
