summer movie reviews pt2

I did a summer movie review last month, and now it’s time for part 2!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen o_o o_o o_o o_o :D
Am I one of the few people who actually thought this moving was effing amazing with just the right amount of humor at just the right time? Maybe I feel this way because of the disappointing reviews I’ve read and I went into the theater with rather low expectations. Granted, the plot can be confusing from time to time, but overall the movie had me holding my breath and clenching my fist the entire time, in a good way.

The Proposal :D :D :D :D   :3
Typical romantic comedy/chick-flick, but an excellent one at that. It’s definitely got its share of laughing moments with just the right amount of cute moments that make you go “Aww”. Watch it with a friend or watch it with your boyfriend, it’s all good, but definitely go watch it.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs :3 :3 :3 :3 :D
I never saw the first 2 Ice Age films, so I can’t compare, but I gave it 4 :3 faces because of the 4 babies in the movie: they were SO adorable! Asides from that, the movie was ok. There were a few funny moments, but just a few. See it if you want, but if you don’t, I won’t hold it against you either. You are forgiven :P

Extra entertainment tidbit: Hilary Duff has been cast to appear in Gossip Girl season 3 as a movie star who wants to live the regular college life. Did I also mention that she’ll be Vanessa’s roomie in NYU and has her eyes set on Dan? This should be an interesting season.

Some more extra non-entertainment related tidbit: My portfolio is now located at Wing Stranger Production, and I’ll be moving my tutorials there and posting them there from now on. Give it some love!

Yay for movies. I always end up saying I’ll go and not going. Actually, I was physically in the theater yesterday, but my friends decided against watching anything because half had already seen the shorter ones and some people had to get home by midnight which ruled out the long ones, alas.

I love your smilie face review ratings, haha.

I’ve been wanting to go see those but haven’t had time yet. It’s nice to see reviews somewhere other than rotten tomatoes :)

So far I’ve only heard about Transformers..everyone is talking about how action-packed it was. I can’t wait! I really wanted to see The Proposal though..the story’s just kind of funny :)

Aww I didn’t know they’d have that many babies in Ice Age! That’s cute ^^

Uhh. I heard something about that..but Hilary Duff, seriously?!? I guess I just don’t see her as GG material yet..but maybe she’ll fit in. With Chuck and Blair though, it’ll definitely be an interesting season :D can’t wait!

I haven’t watched both movies! Gosh. I really need to go out of the office. T.T

Out of the three you mentioned, I only watched The Proposal. I agree, it was pretty good. I heard the writing in the new Transformers movie was bad so I kind of didn’t want to go and watch it… and for Ice Age 3, I heard it was hilarious! Hopefully I can catch it some time. :)

This Wednesday, I’m going to watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. :D I’m reeeaaaally excited since I’m a huge fan of the books.

I’m looking forward to the new GG season too! It doesn’t really matter to me if Dan goes with Hilary’s character. All I care about is Chuck & Blair!! :P

I can’t wait for the next season of Gossip Girl!!

And yah, my bf and I both thought Transformers 2 was pretty good. Yes, parts of it were really cheesy and horrible, but in general it was good.

  6. Eli says:

I have yet to see either of the movies you reviewed, but I really want to see The Proposal…I saw the first 2 Ice Age movies..very good! Transformers…never got into that. But thanks for the reviews, how cool, not many sites review movies like this.

Truuuust me, you’re not alone. Lutten, a friend of mine, LOVED IT TO NO END. And the local theatre hall was packed with Transformers fans who started to clap during the movie when some witty or brilliant scenes came. Yup, Norwegian fans are awesome.

  8. Lily says:

I ended up reading the reviews to Transformers AFTER seeing it but was really shocked! I actually really enjoyed it…and yeah OK, I didn’t FULLY understand what was going on but who acres? The screen effects were excellent and that’s one of the main reasons I see movies on the big screen. What’s a perfect plot with no effects? Wouldn’t it be better just to rent it on DVD then curl up on your sofa?

I was contemplating on whether to watch Ice Age or HP but now with all of Ice Age’s bad reviews I think I’ll go with HP. Plus Ice age is in 3D so it’s two times as expensive as normal movies x[

    Thanks for the reviews!! :)

  9. Katy says:

I haven’t watched movies in ages but I want to watch HP soon that’s for sure. =P

Dude, wait…why do I say “dude”? Anyway, I loved Transformers! It was funny and filled with action at the same time. The small romance parts were kind :P , but it’s all cool. Didn’t see the other movies, and I don’t plan on it. :D

  11. Angela says:

I thought Transformers was great!! And Ice Age was just ok!! Haven’t seen the other BUT I did hear it was really funny!!

  12. Ongaku says:

I really enjoyed the Transformers movie. I didn’t want to fall asleep while watching it like I did for the new Harry Potter movie. LOL

I don’t know why Transformers got such a poor rating. Dx

  13. Justin says:

I agree. The Proposal is a really good romantic comedy. I cried….. and I laughed like crazy during that chant scene. OMG it was epic!

Transformers didn’t confuse me… I was kinda hoping for more plot! lol And I don’t know if I agree about the humor being spread out well… all the jokes, in my opinion, were at the beginning…. and there was like one joke about balls at the end. Yeah…. I didnt really like it that much.
